St. Tammany Parish Officials Urge Citizens to Remain Weather Aware

St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper is asking residents to use care when traveling in St. Tammany, as spring rains have caused high water on some roadways. Forecasters predict the possibility for storms could return Friday.

“Our Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is closely monitoring the forecast and watching river levels. Our Public Works crews are checking roadways and placing high water signs where needed. We ask citizens to stay tuned to local weather, and drive with care,” President Cooper said. “All road updates are posted at”

Residents are asked to report flooded structures to 985-898-2574.

Camp Salmen Nature Park, located at 35122 Parish Parkway Slidell, is closed due to high water. Storm information is posted at, and on Parish Social Media channels.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for St. Tammany Parish until Saturday morning.
