Statement from St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper – September 14, 2020
St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper is asking residents to continue to monitor the forecast for Hurricane Sally through the National Weather Service and local media, and to be assured that St. Tammany Parish Government is prepared.
“St. Tammany Parish Government has met with first responders who have high water vehicles prepositioned; power companies, who have crews on stand-by; our own Public Works and Tammany Utilities crews who have been in touch with debris monitoring contractors who are on stand-by; and local officials, and we are ready to respond once Hurricane Sally has passed through the area.” Cooper went on to say, “We want citizens to stay tuned to local media for the forecasts, and monitor our STPG-TV Television station and our storm page at www.stpgov.org for continuous updates. Please remain off the roadways as the storm approaches and moves through our area. Stay safe and God Bless.”
