Long-time St. Tammany Planning/Zoning Commissioner Loy Raymond "Pug" Lorren Dies
Loy Lorren, affectionately known as “Pug,” passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019. He was 81. Mr. Lorren served on the St. Tammany Parish Planning and Zoning Commission since 2012, and was an active community advocate, who willingly gave of his time and thoughtful expertise to contribute to the betterment of St. Tammany Parish.
“Our hearts go out to Pug’s family. He was a fair and steady hand on the Commission and we were very fortunate to have known him, and called him a friend. He served our community well,” said Pat Brister, St. Tammany Parish President. “He listened to all sides, and was thoughtful in his decision-making. We will all miss him.”
“Pug Lorren gave his time and passion for the preservation of the Parish he called home,” said Marty Dean, St. Tammany Parish Councilmember. “He was a good friend, a great and selfless public servant, and he will be sorely missed.”
Mr. Lorren will be laid to rest on Friday, October 11, 2019. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
