The new St. Tammany Parish Department of Development opens Monday, August 13^th at 21454 Koop Drive. The department consolidates the permitting functions of a number of different agencies including Permits & Regulatory, Engineering, Planning, and Environmental Services into one office. It will no longer be necessary for citizens to visit several offices to obtain most permits.

 

Creating this simplified process is one of the primary goals of the Brister administration. “I want to streamline the permitting process and make it easier for citizens to interact with parish government,” said Parish President Pat Brister.

 

The new department, under director Sidney Fontenot, is on the first floor of building “B” on the Koop Drive campus. “B” is the second building on the left side of the road. Office hours are 8:00AM to 4:30PM.
