Remember Memorial Day
With the start of the Memorial Day weekend, I would like to discuss what Memorial Day represents. It is a time to honor those men and women who have lost their lives as they fought to preserve the liberties that every American enjoys. We should also thank and honor those men and women who have, and who will continue, to serve our country proudly in the armed forces. Throughout the Parish, from Slidell to Lacombe, to Covington, there will be many ceremonies and events to celebrate this solemn occasion. We encourage everyone to participate in a commemorative Memorial Day event, to thank a Marine, family members of a fallen soldier, or a Seaman or Airman who is currently deployed.
Memorial Day also traditionally marks the start of summer. We would like to wish everyone a safe, happy summer. We encourage everyone to practice safety on the water, in the sun and during summer...
