“Introduction to Genealogy” with Ashley Biggs, will be offered at the following two locations:

Ms. Biggs has a Master’s Degree in Library Science, specializing in archiving and records management. She served as Covington library’s reference librarian for three years prior to taking over the Genealogy and Louisiana History Collection.

Program participants will learn the following basic skills:

How to begin genealogy research -  Where to find the Library’s genealogy collectioN - How to use Family Search, the largest genealogy organization in the world,provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and How to use Ancestry Library Edition, a genealogy database open to St. Tammany Parish Library cardholders
